Nashville
Live music seven nights a week and a hotel scene that exploded.
About Nashville
Nashville added more hotel rooms in the last decade than almost any city its size in America, and the result is a market that behaves strangely β in the best possible way for travelers who know where to look. Weekend rates downtown can be eye-watering because of the bachelorette economy, while the same Tuesday night might be quietly reasonable. Member rates show a different set of prices than the big public booking sites, and in a market this new and this competitive, the gap is a meaningful difference some nights and more modest others. Always worth the comparison here.
Lower Broadway is the engine: four blocks of honky-tonks with live bands from 10 a.m. to 3 a.m., no cover, every single day. But Nashville's real depth is just past it β the Ryman Auditorium's perfect acoustics, the Country Music Hall of Fame, hot chicken joints that take the heat scale seriously, and the Grand Ole Opry out by the river. The Gulch and East Nashville give you the city's newer, cooler face: rooftop pools, murals, coffee roasters, and restaurants that would hold their own in any coastal city.
Our Travel Editor's Nashville advice: if your trip is about Broadway, stay within walking distance and accept the weekend premium β paying for a rideshare back to a cheaper hotel at 2 a.m. erases the savings fast. If your trip is about music history and food, book The Gulch or East Nashville midweek and you'll see a better city at a better price.

The Gulch
Nashville's glossy newer district just southwest of downtown β design-forward hotels, rooftop bars, and the famous wings mural, a walkable 15 minutes from Broadway.
East Nashville
Across the river, the city's indie side: vintage shops, neighborhood restaurants, and small music venues. Fewer hotels, more character, quick rideshare to downtown.
Music Row
The historic stretch of label offices and recording studios near Vanderbilt β quieter, leafier, and a smart-value base a short hop from the downtown crowds.
