Hotels sell rooms through many different channels — public booking sites, loyalty programs, corporate accounts, and closed-member groups. The rates we show members fall into that last category: they're real rates at real hotels, just not rates that get displayed on the open web. They're distributed through a closed-user-group model, which means the hotel can price them differently than their publicly-advertised rates. On the right night at the right property, the difference can be meaningful. On other nights, the gap may be smaller. The point is you're looking at a different set of prices than what the general public sees — and that's worth knowing before you book.

Whether the difference is $15 or $150 a night depends on the property, the date, and how the hotel has chosen to allocate its inventory. Some nights the gap is wide. Some nights it isn't. We're honest about that.
