The Sports Illustrated flagship resort in Cap Cana is the brand's first full hotel property — and it lands in arguably the best pocket of Punta Cana for it. Cap Cana is the gated luxury enclave at Punta Cana's south end, with the country's best resort food scene, a working marina, and a quieter, more polished feel than the larger Bávaro Beach strip.

The 'active luxury' positioning shows up in real ways: a serious fitness setup, daily athletic programming, padel and pickleball courts, and on-site partnerships with the marina for boating, fishing, and water-sport excursions. The pool complex is large and varied; the dining program runs to multiple à la carte restaurants without a traditional buffet.

It's adults-only and unmistakably premium — a stronger fit for couples, friend trips, and active travelers than the family-resort scene. Cap Cana's location does mean a slightly longer airport transfer (~25 min), but the trade-off is access to the best food and the most polished resort grounds in Punta Cana.
