Red Rocks & Resorts Loop

Las Vegas → Flagstaff → Sedona → Scottsdale → Las Vegas

Browse Hotels Along This Route

Red rock country and desert resorts — the Southwest without the camping.

About This Route

This is the Southwest loop for travelers who want the red rocks without the tent. Las Vegas to Flagstaff to Sedona to Scottsdale and back — every night of the trip ends at a real hotel, half of them with a pool and a spa, and the scenery in between is some of the best in the country. The drive down Oak Creek Canyon from Flagstaff into Sedona alone justifies the rental car.

The rhythm is simple: city energy in Vegas, mountain-town cool in Flagstaff, red rock mornings in Sedona, and resort afternoons in Scottsdale. The hotel markets could not be more different — Vegas has enormous inventory and friendly midweek rates, while Sedona's small supply and Scottsdale's winter-season pricing are exactly where member rates do their heaviest lifting. Book those two legs first and let Vegas flex around them.

The Route

4 stops · book hotels at member rates in each city.

Las Vegas
1
Stop 1

Las Vegas

Start and end here. The best rates on the loop and the easiest flights — launch midweek if you can.

Flagstaff
2
Stop 2

Flagstaff

Pine forests at 7,000 feet, a Route 66 downtown, and the cool-air overnight before descending Oak Creek Canyon.

Sedona
3
Stop 3

Sedona

Red rock trailheads out the hotel door. Two nights minimum — sunrise and sunset here are the whole point of the loop.

Scottsdale
4
Stop 4

Scottsdale

Desert resorts, golf, spas, and Old Town dinners. The recovery leg — earn it on the Sedona trails first.

Travel Editor Tip

Sedona's hotel inventory is small and swings hard with demand — book it before anything else on the loop. In summer, flip the logic: Scottsdale resorts practically give rooms away from June through August.
